PNW Summer Circuit

Summer Tournaments Wrap up

The summer is coming to an end and I wanted to do a wrap on how my PNW Summer circuit went. I played a bunch of Open prize money tournaments in Oregon, Washington, and Canada. These tournaments are special for me, as I get the opportunity to compete with and in front of friends and family. Most of these venues put on a great event, with great people, and it makes for the most fun tournaments of the year for me. Here are some of the highlights:

Irvington Club Adidas Open - Mens Doubles Finalist, mixed semifinalist, singles quarterfinalist

Juneteenth Classis - Singles finalist

Oregon State Open - Singles and doubles finalist. I was fighting off cramps in the heat during the final for about 20-30 minutes. I was up 5-4, 40-30 in the 3rd set walking to return serve on match point for me, when both legs started fully cramping. My quads and hamstrings fully contracted and I collapsed in pain. After receiving a few minutes of massage and taking everything my dad and the trainer were feeding me, I stood up to play match point. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to finish the match and felt the uphill battle in front of me. I ended up fighting and getting another game, but ultimately couldn’t get my body to respond and finish the match strongly.

Tacoma Lawn PNW OPEN - Mixed Doubles Finalist, Mens Doubles quarterfinals

Washington State Open- Mens and mixed doubles semi-finalist.

Eugene Open - Mens and mixed doubles champion, Singles semifinals

Yakima Baker Boyer Open - Mens doubles champion, singles quarterfinals
